Why Do Cover Wars at B2B CyCon

I loved Cover Wars at B2B CyCon last year. First, we all know that people tend to judge a book by it's cover. Secondly, there are some ABSOLUTELY gorgeous covers out there in the book world.

I loved seeing all the beautiful covers last year, but we realized that it wasn't fair to pit certain genres against one another. Let's be honest, fantasy covers will beat Thriller covers every time (and I write paranormal thriller, so I totally understand how that's not fair.) Fantasy covers are simply more complex and, well, fantastical, right? Thrillers tend to be more mysterious and minimalist. They can't compete.

But this year we are going to be dividing cover wars by genres, to make it fair. We will have an overall winner of the competition, and a winner for each genre as well. There will be a badge (That you can add to the back of your book, which is great street cred.) and there will be a cash prize (that's why the category is $10, instead of the regular $5.) You shelled out for your cover. Time to get that back, am I right?

We will be hosting each on Brackify (Here's a view of an example we put together for the CyCon Sampler last weekend.) and traffic will be driven to the Cover Wars in many of the events related to that genre. We will also be providing tutorials on how authors can promote through Social Media to drive traffic to vote, and to get the event trending.

I am setting up Cover Wars this year, and I am so excited! It is going to be amazing!

Plus, what a great way to make an impression on a reader in your genre, by showing off your beautiful cover on display with all the other covers in your genre! We put all that effort into our covers because we know that covers do sell books, but only if they get seen. Get yours seen, recognized and honored for it's beauty and brilliance.

Grab a Cover Wars spot today for only $10.

Until Next Time,

Keep Writing!
